At HITEC, we make it a point to "push up and pull up" our members. One way we do this is by acknowledging and celebrating successes, career accomplishments and contributions to the community. Diego de Souza, Managing Director Security Technology with United Airlines, shared with us a story about how is making a difference in the community in Nicaragua.
"During a trip in 2016 to Managua, Nicaragua. I saw many kids seeking for food into dumpsters, that was heartbreak in my life. In partnership with a local person, I have started my own project called "El Comedor" (solidarity kitchen), where we took 20 of the children we saw, and have started to feed them meals every day. This year we understood that beyond giving the fish we should teach the kids how to fish. We have started a 'digital inclusion' where we are building a computer laboratory to teach computer skills to anyone that would like to learn. It is our hope that those children will work to obtain skills and apply them to seek to a better future."
We are proud of Diego and salute his effort in making a real impact in the community. If you have a success story you would like to share, please tell us about it here.
