Personal Empowerment
Session Abstract - Spin Your Tale: The Fiction Writers’ Guide to Telling YOUR Story
People are talking about you behind your back. Everyone is doing it: Your friends. Your co-workers. Your management. People you don’t even know! What are they saying? (What? You don’t know?!!)
Whether you like it or not, your name has a brand attached to it. Like Jeff Bezos (you know, the CEO of a tiny company called Amazon with a VERY strong brand) says, “Your brand is what people say about you when you’re not in the room.”
Here’s the kicker though: You can't control your brand. It’s what OTHER PEOPLE think, say and feel about you. However, you CAN craft and control your story. Your story is the thing that leads to your brand. If you don’t tell people the story you want them to repeat about you—they'll absolutely make one up for you. Without your input. You probably spend a lot of time working to ensure your reputation is solid. But how much time do you spend thinking about how that work is perceived?
Once you understand the world’s perception of you, you can craft the story and spin the tale you want being told about you. Then will people call on you for the kinds of opportunities that someone of your skillset has earned through your hard work!
People who spin their tale have made it big in this world: no matter what they do for a living. Where they come from. Who they know. All that mattered was how they told their story. YOU can do it too. Using a formula we've tested on a whole bunch of people (many just like you), you can join them.
Come spend 30 minutes with us and Spin Your Tale.

CONCURRENT SESSIONS
Technology Track: Securing Our Future - with Microsoft CISO and leadership team
Session Abstract - Join Microsoft’s CVP and Chief Information Security Officer, Bret Arsenault, for a technical session about security. During this lively discussion, Bret will explain how he approaches security, demonstrate some of the attempts attackers make, and will show you how our people and our technology defend against these attacks. There will be lots of opportunities to ask questions of Bret and a few people from his team. It promises to be an educational and eye-opening introduction to security.
Presented by Bret Arsenault, Chief Information Security Officer, Microsoft & Leadership Team
Professional Development Track: We All Have a Story – Learn to Tell Yours!
Session Abstract - It is no secret that top leaders are great communicators. And great communicators are exceptional storytellers! Think about all the memorable turning points in history and the impact they had on you based on how the story was told. From a startup overcoming all the odds, to a successful company turnaround, or an individual captivating you with their personal message. Stories work because they connect, convince, motivate, and inspire. Leaders understand that telling the right story is as important as telling the story right! The art of storytelling allows effective leaders to transmit values and trigger emotions while soliciting positive responses and sparking actions that elicit high performance from their teams. Storytellers are considered an elite and small group of leaders that can hold the attention of an audience while building trust, motivating, and sharing a common vision. During this seminar, we will explore storytelling as a leadership tool, discuss practical tips and techniques, and learn to leverage our authentic communication style to deliver our message. From using metaphors and analogies to writing strategic narratives, this workshop will certainly add another set of skills to your already successful toolkit. Make no mistake about it – if you are leading, then you are telling a story. Make sure it is a memorable one!
Presented by Fernando Rosario, Chief Technology Officer, Raisal, President and Founder of Exeqpath LLC.
Board Fit - Societal Expectations, Sustainability, and the Role of the Board

Disrupting the IT Market by Adding Data Security as a Must presented by Micro Focus
Session Abstract - We have seen security breaches as a common new headline for the news lately. All technologies such as Big Data, Hybrid Cloud and IoT have being contributing to what`s called digital transformation, but one item makes these technologies all freak out: Data protection. The old protection strategy does not work on this new and challenging environment and we need to advance our defenses as much as we did into technologies. Changing our mindset can create exceptional ways to seek and embrace disruptive technologies but also create a secure world for our main asset, our data.
Moderator: Paulo Veloso - Business Director - Security Products
Christopher Hall, Deputy Chief Information Security Officer, BNY Mellon
Brian Arellanes, CEO/Chairman and Founder, ITSourceTEK, Inc

Mixed Reality in the Modern Workplace: What it is, How it’s Changing the World, its Significance for the Latinx Community
Session Abstract - At Microsoft, we are on a mission to empower every person and organization on the planet to achieve more. The very nature of what it means to work is changing – and just as the agricultural revolution led to rapid increases in agricultural productivity, or the industrial revolution ushered in entirely new manufacturing processes, the digital revolution has again redefined what it means to work. Mixed Reality has the potential to help customers and businesses across the globe do things that until now, have never been possible, and the Latinx community has a unique opportunity to both benefit from this technology revolution and impact it in meaningful ways.
