SAN JOSE Calif., February 12, 2010 - Hispanic IT Executive Council (HITEC) and the Information Technology Senior Management Forum (ITSMF) declared today their IT Executive Achievement Awards & Symposium held in San Jose, California was a success.

More than 300 IT executives from across the country attended the symposium during the day, and more than 500 corporate, government and association IT executives and their guests returned later that evening for the IT Executive Achievement Awards. The black-tie affair sold-out quickly, and guests enjoyed the keynote address given by Roland S. Martin, one of Ebony Magazine’s 150 Most Influential African-Americans in the United States and the 2009 winner of the NAACP Image Award for Best interview.

“We were able to bring together African American and Hispanic IT executives for a very informative symposium and honor some of the greatest leaders of our industry during an elegant awards ceremony,” said J. Alberto Yepez, HITEC board chair. “Collaborating with ITSMF was a tremendous honor that I believe both organizations felt was mutually beneficial. We look forward to future collaborations and helping both organizations fulfill their respective missions.”

The Information Technology Senior Management Forum /Hispanic IT Executive Council IT Executive Achievement Awards also pays tribute to industry leaders who have made extraordinary contributions to the advancement of information technology while simultaneously demonstrating proactive leadership in advancing diversity.

About the Hispanic IT Executive Council:
HITEC (Hispanic IT Executive Council) was founded by senior Hispanic IT executives who have built outstanding careers in information technology but realized that there are far too few Hispanics in the IT leadership role. With a strong desire and passion to make an impact within the Hispanic IT community by helping others reach the highest levels, HITEC was formed in late 2006. These national leaders include executives leading Fortune 500 corporations on both U.S. and global initiatives while others lead some of the largest Hispanic owned IT firms in the United States.
